Professional Experience

Supervisor/Creative Innovation:

In the 1960's fresh out of college Beth started the first full-time children's theatre in Minnesota - The Moppet Players Children's Theatre. The Children's Theatre Company (CTC) in Minneapolis, the largest children's theatre in the country, grew out of Beth's pioneering effort.

Beth coordinated activities in a state-wide Arts in Special Education Program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which booked artists into sites in five counties throughout the state.

Working at the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts through a federally funded ESAA grant, Beth brought wide-ranging art experiences from over 100 artists to 11,000 students in the Harrisburg School District.

She developed programs in Burlington and Elizabeth, New Jersey, which were sponsored by the NJ Department of Education to bring 30 artists in performances and residencies, into 16 inner city schools.

At Artworks in Trenton, New Jersey she brought as many as 300 students annually in to NYC to see their artwork displayed at the Guggenheim Museum as a part of year-long Learning Through Arts program in the schools.

International:

She launched a three-year electronic exchange with Sweden and six schools (three US/three Sweden) which culminated in exchange visits between teachers and students.

Whether classroom teacher, art teacher or camp or after-school director, Beth has managed to integrate innovative arts projects into her programming, lesson plans and activities.

She presented classes and performances in NYC schools through the Lincoln Center Education Department. This included a long-term residency in the Bronx.

At The Cambridge School, working with the entire student body of K-8th grades, Beth developed special programming to integrate the arts into school subject-matter through multi-sensory learning.
